Fall is just around the corner…
As we head into Fall, Director Debra Taylor gives a brief update on what we have been working on here at Sexual Wholeness.
I hope your summer has been enjoyable.
It’s been almost a year since we rolled out our new website and Membership Hub. Over the past several months we have asked for feedback and suggestions, and we have continued to fine tune and tweak the Certification, Training, Membership, and Find a Therapist sections. I hope if you haven’t already explored each of these areas, you will soon.
The Sexual Wholeness Board, our Director of the Institute for Sexual Wholeness (Dr. Gary Barnes), our two wonderful administrators for ISW and ABCST, and I have continued to manage and expand our trainings (check out the Academic Calendar for 2024 under “Training” on the website!). We also have continued the ABCST membership benefits, such as access to a mental health research library through EBSCO and discounts on CEUs through our friends/partners. Several of our members have become certified this year! And we are in need of more Consultants. Please look at the website to see how to apply to become an approved Consultant if you are interested in helping others toward certification as a Sex Therapist. And if you haven’t looked at the “Find a Therapist” section of the website, it is a great resource when making referrals in other states (or other parts of your state).
The AACC World Conference is just around the corner and several of our professors, staff, and ABCST members will be presenting workshops and Pre-Conference Workshops. If you are coming to the conference, please attend or stop by one of our presentations to say “Hello”! (I would also love to hear from you via email if you would like to try to meet up for coffee or catching up: debra@sexualwholeness.com).
We will be finishing our 2023 Academic year with an Intro course at Richmont Graduate University in September, an Intermediate Foundations of Sex Therapy course in Dallas in October, and Advanced Sexual Identity and Gender Identity in Dallas in November. I hope you will consider attending, and please support these classes and all who will attend through prayer!
Sexual Wholeness was founded out of our desire to “unveil God’s truth about sexuality” to the church and to the world via training for therapists and pastors, speaking at conferences, workshops, and churches, and to provide a community for Christian professionals called to and interested in healthy sexuality. We are always aware that our calling and the fulfillment of our mission is dependent on God. Please continue to pray for God’s grace to be demonstrated through Sexual Wholeness and let us know how we can encourage you in the calling God has given you.
